DAY 1 Arrive in Nashville
The beating heart of America’s Music town can set the tone as you prepare to start up a leisurely journeying to discover the sounds of the South. Tonight, join your guide and fellow travelers for a welcome reception at the Acme Restaurant.
DAY 2 Nashville Sightseeing
The famous Nashville Sound comes alive this morning as RCA’s Studio B reveals the legends of Elvis Presley, Jim Reeves, and many other singers. Take a cultural tour into the life and music of a Confederate soldier. Our acoustic journey continues with a visit to the C and W music hall of fame. Then you can check out Elvis’ “Solid Gold Cadillac” and Jim Reeves’ tux jacket- along with a fantastic assortment of records to admire. You’ll appreciate having a little time to yourself to continue your discovery of the capital of Tennessee.
Backstage Experience at the Grand Ole Opry- it is a must-see for everybody in Music City! Get into the footsteps of country music and Western folk music with the culture of country music of the superstars. Then you will have an exclusive tour of what happens behind the scenes of the show that made western music famous! Your knowledgeable guide can share stories regarding the Opry and country music greats from the past. See the photos of the Opry’s most significant moments in history and take you to the artist entrance – where legends, new artists, and superstars alike enter the Opry House on the night of an Opry show. You will even have the possibility to tread on stage and into the notable picket circle as decades of artists have done.
DAY 3 – Walkin’ in Memphis
Today is a free day. Amble through Broadway’s honky-tonk scene or maybe fancy the gut-busting native hot chicken and biscuits. Tonight, the sounds of music fill the air as we head to the Grand Ole Opry, to observe the performance of America’s longest-running live radio program.
DAY 4 – Memphis
We will go to the Storyteller museum and Johnny Cash’s farmhouse. Afterward, we get a real treat, as one of the Cash family members will perform for us if they are not on tour.
After your approach to the vast Mississippi Delta, head for the birthplace of Rock’ n’ Roll, you’ll be greeted with the sounds of the Blues on Beale Street. You’ll have a chance to explore the spot where civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr. was murdered, as the National Civil Rights Museum is built around that site.
Memphis Sun Records Studio Experience &
Rock and Soul museum tour.
A radio-controlled tour of the legendary Sun Records Studio. Learn the way the mixing of Blues and country and Western music came along within the explosion of Rock N’ Roll. Hear outtakes from recording sessions, see many records, and re-live the history of the studio that launched the musical careers of B.B. King, Little Milton, Howlin’ Wolf, Carl Perkins, Rosco Gardon, German Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and many more.
DAY 5 – GRACELAND EXCURSION ( This is an All Day Event)
Worship at the altar of the King and head to Graceland, a tribute to the person who changed the face of Rock and Roll forever. See Graceland’s Jungle and visit the grave of Elvis as you stroll the grounds where he once walked. Pay a visit to Sun Studios, whose noble aim was to capture the raw energy of Beale Street, recording the first Rock’ n’ Roll single in 1951. Tonight, enjoy whatever local eatery you decide to eat at.
Graceland – VIP Tour
Real fans of The King might want to upgrade their trip to Graceland with the VIP Tour. In addition to the interactive, audio radio-controlled tour of Elvis estate and the resting place the Elvis, this pass can offer you access to the very rooms and halls that the Legend once walked.
DAY 6 MEMPHIS – NATCHEZ
Kick-off this morning’s musical interlude at the legendary Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum before we say goodbye to Memphis. We are off to the city of Natchez. With a touch of French air and an old culture, Natchez is the perfect spot for a relaxing exploration of Southern history. This gives you the chance to experience the world-famous Southern hospitality. We will enjoy a “Be My Guest” dinner starting with a reception at a private residence of Joe Stone, whose gracious home features a fine assortment of rare maps, a quaint billiards hall, and exquisite decorative glassware. Joe performs on his 1903 Henry Steinway grand piano and delves into the inspiration behind each bit of music before you are treated to a glass of wine and are left to tour the expansive assortment of goods. Head over to the residence of Esther Carpenter, built-in 1804. Esther was once a Four Seasons chef and named one of the top twenty in America
DAY 7 – NATCHEZ – OAK ALLEY – NEW ORLEANS
Join local specialists to get the history of Mississippi Delta’s cotton plantation that produces over 900 bales of “white gold” daily. The slave customs, foreign music, and a genuine reconstructed nineteenth-century plantation are yours to explore in the Frogmore Plantation and Gins. Then we are going for a stroll through the charming Louisiana countryside to Oak Alley Plantation, on 1/4 mile stretch of 300-year-old oak trees, dominating the quiet river. This evening, go out on the Creole Queen Riverboat for a buffet dinner and live music cruise.
DAY 8 – NEW ORLEANS SIGHTSEEING
Let the great times appear in New Orleans, tracing the cosmopolitan history of one of America’s oldest cities with an area specialist, making stops
at Town Park. You will also visit one of the ornate above-ground cemeteries, a unique feature of this town engineered on swamplands. Take the time to enjoy the afternoon absorbing the laid-back vibes of the Big Easy life. Enjoy your evening in New Orleans aboard the authentic steamboat for a jazz dinner cruise on the river. Enjoy a hot dinner, while taking in pretty views of the downtown urban center and enjoying the sounds of the Grammy-award winning “Dukes of Dixieland.” A full bar is also accessible for your pleasure. The spicy scents of Creole food linger on this evening’s visit to the New Orleans School of Cooking. We then settle in and enjoy a meal of Creole creations.
DAY 9 – NEW ORLEANS AT LEISURE
Today is yours to explore the French, Spanish, and Creole sights and sounds of the latest Orleans. If you feel brave, visit Marie Laveau’s Historic Voodoo museum that traces the mysteries, legends, and traditions of voodoo. Optional Swamp And lake Tour:
After a brief SUV ride across the river, take a boat trip into the Pelican State swamps and bayous through a part of the Jean espresso National Historical Park – Barataria Preserve. Local guides can reveal the mysteries of the wetlands and bayous, and you’ll discover, however, the food from these bountiful waters provides a large assortment of delectable dishes! Observe the nesting grounds of alligators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and lots of species of snakes. Tonight, join your guide and new friends for a farewell dinner at the famous Court of 2 Sisters.
DAY 10 – DEPART
For now, it’s ‘Au Revoir’ New Orleans, however, not ‘Adieu.’ We will transport you to the airport, or you can extend your vacation to enjoy more of the sights of the South.
