Explore the corridors of the Capital, the peaceful Amish way of existence, and the thundering roar of Niagara Falls, as well as Canada’s cosmopolitan cities. Experience New York, Newport’s opulence and the beer brewing traditions of Boston. This grand tour of all these cities is what makes North America extraordinary. DAY 1 – ARRIVE WASHINGTON, D.C.
Welcome to the political heart of America and its Capital for over two centuries, a metropolis of stirring museums and monuments. Explore at your leisure before meeting your Travel Director for a Welcome Reception at 6 p.m.
DAY 2 – WASHINGTON, D.C.
Today you’ll roam D.C.’s corridors of power in a city that is home to America’s Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. We will see the White House, Washington Monument, and National Mall along the way. Take time to reflect on the country’s turbulent history at the Lincoln Memorial and somber World War II Memorial. The rest of your day is spent viewing the treasures of the incredible Smithsonian Institution, admire masterpieces at the National Gallery of Art or roam through Georgetown Historic District with its cobblestone lanes, quaint cafes, and boutique stores.
Take the Washington Illumination Tour: You’ll be wowed by this illuminated overview of the nation’s capital city at night! See the Capitol, the White House, and the Jefferson Memorial. Visit the Kennedy Center for a rooftop walk and end the evening at the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial. (Stops are subject to weather and local restrictions). Approx. duration: 2 hours
DAY 3 – WASHINGTON, D.C.
Today you may browse the incredible collection of the Smithsonian establishment, admire masterpieces at the National Gallery of Art, the Air and Space Museum, and the Museum of American History.
Day 4- BALTIMORE TO PHILADELPHIA
We Leave DC and visit Baltimore City, stopping at Fort McHenry, as well as staying at the harbor downtown. We are going to spend the day exploring this stunning town, and we will depart this evening for the City of Brotherly Love. (Philadelphia)
Day 5- PHILADELPHIA – NEW YORK city History comes alive within the beautiful park squares and tree-lined alleys of the urban center of the City of Brotherly Love. Explore by following in the footsteps of Benjamin Franklin by going to Independence Hall and the liberty bell. Then you’re rewarded with a delicious Philly cheesesteak before boarding to start your journey north to the Big Apple.
DAY 6 – NEW YORK SIGHTSEEING AT LEISURE
We will be exploring the Big Apple today. Admire the world’s most picturesque skylines from the lofty Empire State Building. Then, step out onto the bustling city streets and experience the heart of Manhattan. Then, it’s on to Battery Park for a splendid day of sightseeing by jumping on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and then to Ellis Islands. Then we visit Ground Zero. Enjoy the evening at your leisure-getting the excitement of Times Square or relish a calming ‘Manhattan’ high above the sparkling town skyline.
DAY 7 – NEW YORK CITY AT LEISURE
Indulge in a full day of looking at your own pace. It’s time to experience anything you want!
DAY 8 – NEW YORK – NEWPORT – Lancaster County
We bid a fond farewell to the Big Apple, then travel north toward the city of Lancaster. First, however, we stop within the picturesque coastal town of Newport, once a well-liked summer retreat, and home-away-from-home for the Vanderbilt’s, Astor’s and Carnegie’s. Wander past rows of luxurious mansions on Ocean Drive before traveling to The Breakers.
DAY 9 – LANCASTER COUNTY – NIAGARA FALLS
Depart Lancaster County and journey across Pennsylvania into the Japanese corner of the latest royal house. Corning Museum of Glass and see thirty-five centuries of glass art within the galleries. Later, arrive in Canada at majestic Niagara Falls.
DAY 10 – NIAGARA FALLS SIGHTSEEING
After experiencing the bird’ s-eye views and the thunderous roar of the falls, take an exhilarating boat ride to the bottom of spectacular Horseshoe Falls. Have some free time to explore the falls on your own before traveling on to the picturesque community of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Tonight, you’ll enjoy a great treat with a special Be My Guest dinner at a neighborhood winemaker, complete with a tasting of their delicious vintages.
DAY 11 – NIAGARA FALLS – TORONTO
Arrive in Toronto, starting with an orientation tour of the town. Take the trip to the CN Tower. Opened in 1974, Canadians and tourists from around the world have made the trip to Toronto to celebrate this marvel of architecture. At 1,815 feet (553.33 meters) tall, the victory communications and the observatory were selected the world’s tallest separate structure (surpassed in 2009 by an urban center building.) Your admission offers you access to the Lookout Level for full views and steps out on the Glass Floor where you’ll be able to peer straight down, 122 feet (342 meters). Then dinner is at the Horizons building.
DAY 12 – TORONTO – OTTAWA
Arrive in Ottawa starting with an orientation tour of the town you will see its elegant buildings of Parliament Hill, Rideau Hall, the residence of the governor. Then see the downtown galleries and museums.
DAY 13 – OTTAWA – QUEBEC CITY (2 NIGHTS)
Bid farewell to Ottawa this morning. Set out for Quebec, a UN agency World Heritage site. On the way, lunch is at a native “sugar shack.”
After arriving in Quebec, You may feel as if you have somehow set foot in Europe with its classic bistros, Paseo cafés, and cobbled streets.
DAY 14 – QUEBEC CITY SIGHTSEEING
Explore Quebec City’s winding streets and historic sites with your native Specialist. Study the city’s French and English military past at the location of The Battle of the Plains of Abraham. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore; you may want to visit a gallery before we meet to take a carriage ride through the cobbled streets. End the evening relaxing at a restaurant.
DAY 15 – QUEBEC CITY – MONTREAL
Arrive in the city where your native Specialist introduces you to the sites of the town, as well as the spectacular Notre-Dame Basilica, the bright port space, and Place Jacques-Cartier, geographical point of the modern village. Tonight dine on authentic Meal.
DAY 16 – MONTREAL – FRANCONIA NOTCH – BOSTON (2 NIGHTS)
Leave the second largest town in the country and cross back to the U.S. Traverse New Hampshire within the heart of the White Mountains. As you travel through forests of maple and birch, anticipate seeing the black bear, elk, and wildlife that call this spacious land home. Arrive in Boston and check into the hotel.
DAY 17 – BOSTON SIGHTSEEING
Discover Boston’s rich history, from the Old North Church to Boston Harbor, site of the famous Tea Party, along the Freedom Trail with a tour of the city. This afternoon, continue your exploration as you please—visit the bar that inspired the TV show “Cheers” or explores the lovely Public Gardens. This evening, toast your holiday and your newfound friends at a Farewell Dinner.
DAY 18 – DEPART BOSTON
This morning, wake to “The City on a Hill.” A transfer is provided to the state capital, then to the Logan International airport. You can also extend your trip to visit more of the Eastern U.S. Contact us for details.
